Founded in 1987, Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. For such a reason for more than 10 years the company has established collaborations models with all the relative stakeholders in the region. In particular, various collaborations models have been, and are currently being explored with our academic partners, with the objective to establish a win-win relation, work together on grand challenges in a structured approach, and ultimately achieve scientific excellence. The company is convinced these collaborations principles will not only bring to better products in the short-to-medium term (applied research), but, to a larger extent, they will pave the way to scientific breakthroughs in the scientific community in the longer term (basic research). Along this vision Huawei has identified RWTH Aachen as one of the key regional stakeholders and with immense innovation capabilities.
