The Werkzeugmaschinenlabor WZL enters a new phase with Prof. Michael Riesener and Prof. Wolfgang Boos assuming leadership responsibilities. They succeed Prof. Günther Schuh, building on more than two decades of established excellence while driving strategic developments to address future industrial challenges.
This transition further strengthens RWTH Aachen’s unique innovation ecosystem. The close collaboration between RWTH Innovation, the RWTH Collective Incubator, the Research Area Deep Tech Innovation of RWTH Aachen University, the Werkzeugmaschinenlabor, WZL der RWTH Aachen, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT creates the opportunity to approach innovation holistically, from deep-tech research and technology transfer to industrial application and entrepreneurship. By combining expertise across these different units, RWTH Aachen is uniquely positioned to accelerate innovation pathways and create lasting impact for industry, startups, and the university as a whole.
