concerning the processing of personal recordings

Who processes what of your data and uses this data?
RWTH University Aachen KdöR, Lehrstuhl Innovation und Entrepreneurship (WIN), Kackertstr. 7, 52072 Aachen, +49 241 80 96359, info.win@time.rwth-aachen.de produces image recordings (static and moving) and sound recordings (hereinafter: "recordings") of you. RWTH Aachen University also transmits these recordings to the following cooperation partners

  • the RWTH Innovation GmbH,
  • the digitalHUB Aachen e.V.,
  • the AC.E Aachener Entrrepreneurship Team e.V.  &
  • the FH Aachen,

which also process the recordings to the extent stated here.

How do we process and publish your recordings?
All recipients of the recordings (hereinafter "we") process the recordings and use them in any form, scope and  frequency for advertising and publications.

The recordings are published

  •  on the intranet of the named recipients
  • in printed form (e.g. press articles, advertising brochures);
  • on the Internet/digital presences as described below.

Information on the Internet is accessible worldwide. The recordings can be copied, stored, duplicated, combined and changed by third parties, found with search engines and linked to other information or retrieved via archive services, even if we have already removed or changed the content. The publication shall be made on the digital presences of the recipients, in particular on rwth-aachen.de, rwth-innovation.de or aachen.digital

Will the recordings also be published outside of our own digital presences?
In addition, the recordings will also be published on third-partypresences. It is intended to publish or transfer the recordings to the following providers, whose data protection information can be found on the websites mentioned:

These providers are subsidiaries of companies from unsecure third countries. The providers may be forced to transfer the recordings to authorities there for control and monitoring purposes, possibly without sufficient legal protection, even after the recordings are no longer published by us and the providers or have been deleted. Therefore, these providers cannot guarantee a level of data protection that complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What legal basis do we use?
The legal basis for the publication of your personal data and images and/or sound recordings is your consent pursuant to article 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and, in addition, article 49 para. 1 lit. a GDPR in the event of consent to the transfer of the recordings to third countries without an adequate level of data protection which is in line with the GDPR.

Duration of data storage
We delete personal image and sound recordings as soon as they are no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes. In this context, personal data may be retained for the time during which legal claims can be asserted against our company (statutory limitation period of three or up to thirty years). In addition, we store personal data insofar as we are legally obliged to do so. Corresponding obligations to provide proof and to store data may arise from the German Commercial Code and the German Fiscal Code, among other things. The storage periods are then up to ten years. Documentation obligations may also arise from the General Data Protection Regulation and the
Kunsturheberrechtsgesetz (German Art Copyright Act).

What data protection rights do you have?
You can request information about the data stored about you via the above-mentioned address. In addition, you can obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data and the right to have incomplete personal data completed. In addition, you can demand the deletion of your data under certain conditions. You may also have the right to restrict the processing of your data and the right to obtain the data you have provided in a structured, commonly used and  machine-readable format, and you have the right to lodge a complaint towards a data protection supervisory authority.

Can I also withdraw the consent?
You may withdraw your consent in whole or in part at any time with effect for the future in text form to RWTH University Aachen KdöR, Lehrstuhl Innovation und Entrepreneurship (WIN), Kackertstr. 7, 52072 Aachen, +49 241 80 96359, info.win@time.rwth-aachen.de. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing the recordings based on consent before its withdrawal. If the publication of the recordings takes place in printed form (print products), the withdrawal does not extend to products already printed and intended for distribution.
