Layer Performance

Additive manufacturing processes, often referred to as 3D printing, are used to produce components by depositing two-dimensional layers. This limits the technology's capabilities, as only low surface qualities and reduced mechanical properties are achievable. Layer Performance is developing software that enables the creation of three-dimensional machine paths for conventional, low-cost 3D printers as well as industrial robots. Thus, surface quality and mechanical properties of manufactured parts increase significantly. With the same mechanical properties, material savings of up to 50 % can be achieved. This enables the use of additive technologies to produce high-quality, high-performance end components, and creates new business areas, such as mass customization.
